Corben Aircraft Acepilot

Here is what an RV-4 looks like. It flies around 185 MPH. It has great short field performance due to its large wing area and low stall speed. It is very light and responsive on the controls and many say it feels like a fighter plane.

Here are two pictures of the jig used to build the empennage (tail) of the RV-4. It
is supported between two wooden 4" X 4" posts that are placed vertically between the
floor and ceiling of the work shop. I drilled 1/2" holes in the floor (concrete) and
installed lead anchors for lag bolts. I placed a piece of 2" X 4" wood across the
bottom of the vertical posts and attached them with sheet rock screws. I then drilled
the 2" X 4" to accept the lag bolts and bolted them to the floor. I then drilled
through the vetrical posts (2 holes) at the top and put 3/8" bolts, washers and nuts
through the floor joists in the basement to support the top of the posts. It creates
a very rigid setup!
